Quick Guide To Easy Skateboard Care And Maintenance

Taking good care of the different mechanical components of your skateboard is the key to ensuring its longevity and optimum functionality and performance. You should not really spend hundreds of dollars on its upkeep. As long as you are able to follow these simple steps to easy skateboard care and maintenance, you can help ensure the continued optimum performance of your ride.

Maintain the trucks in optimum functionality.

You can look at the trucks of your skateboard as that component that attaches the deck to the wheels. Trucks are like the metal axle assembly in your car. On a skateboard, the tightness of the trucks can spell the degree to which your board will turn. Absolute beginners will benefit the most from really tight trucks as these help eliminate unnecessary turns. However, if you require greater control of your board, you may want the trucks to be a bit loose; but not to the point that the nut actually falls off the boards kingpin. You may need to adjust the tightness of the nut on each of the kingpin bolt by about a quarter turn and try the skateboard for responsiveness. You can make quarter turns of adjustment each time until you get the desired responsiveness of the trucks.

Adjust the nuts on the axles.

Just like adjusting the trucks, you will also need to adjust the nuts on the axles or wheels themselves. You need to tighten these nuts without necessarily affecting the ability of the wheel to spin. Too tight and the wheels might not spin at all.

Adjust the mounting bolts of the trucks.

The trucks of your skateboard are mounted onto the deck by bolts and nuts. In many models, the nuts come fully integrated with a nylon locking mechanism. However, this could potentially loosen over the course of repeated use. You may need to check this mechanism to see if the nuts have loosened quite a bit so you can tighten them back up. Do not over tighten the nuts, though as these can get embedded too deep into your skateboard deck.

Clean the wheel bearings.

The wheel bearings are what keep your skateboard rolling. As such these must be cleaned, removed of debris, and adequately lubricated to ensure optimum functioning while helping to provide adequate protection for the metal surfaces. Cleaning the wheel bearings can be a significant undertaking, however. As such, if your wheels are spinning just fine, there really is no need for a whole take-down cleaning of the bearing assembly. You may need to apply lubrication, nonetheless to help minimize friction and keep the metallic surfaces of the assembly from heating up.

Clean and replace the grip tape as needed.

If you see the grip already dirty, maybe its time to give it a good cleaning. Some shops provide you with instant solutions to remove stains and other stubborn marks. However, using an old toothbrush to remove some of the stains can be a more practical approach. There are also instances when its best to replace the grip tape altogether.

Taking care of your skateboard is not that difficult. Its like taking care of your car. The important thing to keep in mind is to observe periodic checks to establish the optimum functionality of the different components of your skateboard.

How To Get Fit For Life

We all live busy hectic lives, some have two jobs and a few people have three. Families, children, the cooking, social activities and everything else that gets in the way of our health.

Being fit, is about being fit for life.

What really is fitness?

As defined in the dictionary : Fitness is the quality of being able to fulfil a suitable role or task. So being fit for life means being able to walk to the shops without needing to take a break. Or being able to take out the rubbish on a daily basis. Or having the energy to play with the grand children, run around with the kids or put up the shelves.

For many, it simply means being able to do the day to day tasks that improve your quality of life.

Where Do You Start?

The truth though, is that along with the modern hectic lives many people live, comes neglect. Neglect of their health and wellbeing. Poor diet, insufficient rest and a lack of the exercise, all contribute to bodies that are not fit for life.

And if your body is not fit for life, then not only will you not live very long, but the quality of that life will be poor.

So assess your situation. Are you slightly overweight? Is your diet full of salty, sugary foods that are also high in fat? Is your intake of vegetables and fruit up to the suggested five a day? Do you get breathless easily? Do you drink enough water?

If your answer to some of these questions is not as you would like, then you need to get fit for life, and heres how to start.

Fix your diet

Its not always easy to stop doing things. If you are a snacker, its hard to stop snacking. But these few suggestions will help you improve your health.

  1. Use smaller plates at dinner time. Find plates just a little smaller than the ones you currently use. This will help with portion control
  2. Dont go for seconds. It takes up to 20 minutes for the food to register with your brain, so slow down and give your body a chance to register the food
  3. Replace chocolate, crisps and sweets with fruit, nuts and seeds. If you cant, then find healthy snacks that include fruit, nuts and seeds as your replacement.
  4. Try to pack in veg with every meal.

Once your diet is looking up, youll need to work on your body.

Building a stronger fitter body

Start slow and simple and build up gradually. That really is the key to becoming stronger and fitter.

Start by trying to incorporate exercise into your daily routine. Try these for starters:

  1. Walk more. Find a reason to walk wherever you need to go. Replace the car with walking whenever and wherever you can. Park further away from the store entrance.
  2. Climb the stairs. Build up gradually. Walk up and down as many times as you can without being completely tired. Do that daily in one session. Then, each week, build up until to get to around 10 times up and down in ten minutes.
  3. Try to do some pushups. Start with just simple ones on your knees to start with and build up to a full set of 10. If thats too easy, go to 20. Build a full set into everyday
  4. Build your core muscles. Try the plank for 5 seconds. If you can do that then build up gradually. Add 5 seconds to your max every week until you can get to 1 minute. Then do that daily as part of your routine
  5. Stretch daily. Join a yoga class, get a video, read the book. Get an exercise mat in your home and stretch daily. You will feel better, fresher and breathe life into your body
  6. Clear your head. Learn to meditate and it will help relieve you from day to day stresses, as well as improve your focus

If you do go to the gym, make sure you get a wrist support for gym lifting.

Manchester United Ticket

Go anywhere in the world, and just mention Manchester United Football Club, and witness what happens. It doesn't matter whether you are in an airport lounge, cafe or pub before you can blink, you will be locked into a conversation. It won't be long before Bobby Charlton, Peter Schmeichel, Denis Irwin, Rio Ferdinand, Roger Byrne, Duncan Edwards, Bryan Robson, Denis Law and the flamboyant and ornamental George Best will send memories reeling back.

Today, MUFC boasts the lightning quick and mathematically impossible saves by goalkeeper David de Gea. Bastian Schweinsteiger, a German import with his icy and methodical skills as their midfielder. Wayne Rooney of course deserves a mention, but we are all familiar with his natural born magic.

Juan Mata's final closing of that long drawn out 44 passes versus the grid locked Southampton, it was simply a luscious finish. Ander Herrera, Juan's partner in crime adding their Spanish paella to the mix. Do you remember that back flip goal?

Manchester United Football Club's beginning was humble, founded as the Newton Heath LYR Football Club in 1878. Then, 24 years later in 1902 the club changed its name to Manchester United Football Club and they moved to Old Trafford in 1910. They have never been out of the spotlight except for two seasons in 1935/36 and 1974/75, where they sat in the 2nd Division.

It's common knowledge that Manchester United Football Club is the only club that has won 20 league titles, they have also cosied up to 11 FA Cups and 4 league cups. They have brought home 3 European Cups, UEFA Cup Winners Cup being the most coveted of them all. So, it's no surprise that Manchester United is indeed one of the most renowned and popular in the world, even in the deepest canals of the Far East where they stay up in the wee hours of the morning to watch them play.

Till this day, it boasts one of the highest average home attendances in Europe and Deloitte Touche, the accountancy and auditing firm estimates their fan base is a bewildering 75 million worldwide! Thanks to the television inventors Farnsworth and Jenkins, that they did not have to just rely on Manchester United ticket sales.

Alex Ferguson, set a record for the longest serving English Premier League football manager of 22 continuous seasons since the Premier League began in 1992. I doubt, this record will ever be broken for at least the next 150 years! Enviably, he still holds the record for the most FA Premier League titles won by a singular manager too, quite simply impossible in football these days but he did it.

So, where do they rank in terms of annual revenue? In 2015, all those merchandise, television rights and Manchester United ticket sales made it the 3rd most valuable club on this planet at £1.28 billion, just behind Real Madrid and Barcelona. The London Stock Exchange witnessed the club floated on its floor in 1991 and they even attempted the New York Stock Exchange in 2012.

If there is a game you wish to watch them play live, nothing beats the raw passion, grinding tempers flaring and fans going wild than a game with Manchester City and especially, Liverpool. The tickets are still reasonably priced at £53 in the south upper wings and cheapest at £41 at the South East Quadrant.

Tempted, when are you getting your Manchester United ticket?

Star Players At Liverpool Football Club

Liverpool Football Club have had a mixed start to the 2015/16 Premier League season so far. The club sits 13th in the league as of 22nd September 2015 with eight points from two wins and two draws. The club takes on Carlisle in the Capital One Cup on the 23rd September and are in the UEFA League group stages, taking on FC Sion next in this competition in October.

The clubs star players so far in this season have been:

Christian Benteke The Belgian international moved from Aston Villa this Summer for a fee in the region of £32.5m. He has scored two goals from five matches to date. After the sale of Luis Suarez prior to the beginning of last season and the sale during this Summer of Raheem Sterling to Manchester City meant that Liverpool needed to sign a young striker with potential to score goals this season and for seasons to come too. The player is being assessed currently for a hamstring injury to see how serious it is and whether he will be missing for the Premier League game on Saturday versus his old club, Aston Villa.

Philippe Coutinho The Brazilian international has been a Liverpool player since 2013 but this has been the season so far where he has made to make the most impact and arguably live up to his reputation and use his undoubted skills fully due to the change in Liverpool's strike-force again. Linking up with Benteke in providing service to the Belgian frontman has proven early dividends so far this season as he has scored himself, late in the game in the one nil victory against Stoke City and been provider for Benteke. His performances have been praised by Barcelona's striker Neymar who has said that the player could be a potential star at the Camp Nou. The only blot on his season so far has been the sending off for two yellow cards against West Ham United in the Premier League.

The partnership between Benteke and Coutinho for Liverpool is key in their challenging for a Champions League place in the Premier League and success in the domestic and European cup competitions creating a continuing demand for tickets for Liverpool FC . The loss of Suarez and his goal scoring last season meant the club went backwards in terms of their progression in the league. The loss of Sterling has meant that Benteke must be their 20 to 30 goal man this season or they will struggle to be a top four team in England.
